From Garage Conversion to Dream Junior ADU: Welcome to Central Haven

We're excited to introduce Central Haven—our recently completed Junior ADU in Atascadero, California. Originally, this space began as a garage that had already been converted into a living area before we purchased the property. Rather than reconnecting it to the main home, we saw an opportunity to create something truly special. We closed it off from the primary residence and transformed it into a beautifully finished approximately 400-square-foot, one-bedroom, one-bath Junior ADU designed for both comfort and long-term functionality.

Small Footprint. Big Living.

One of the biggest goals for this project was proving that smaller spaces don't have to feel small.

To maximize every square foot, we incorporated 9-foot ceilings throughout the home, instantly creating a more open and inviting atmosphere. The added ceiling height allowed us to install custom floor-to-ceiling cabinetry, providing significantly more storage while maintaining a clean, modern design.

Every cabinet, drawer, and storage solution was intentionally designed to make daily living easier without sacrificing style. Because Adam and Erica plan to eventually downsize into this home after their children are grown, every design decision was made with long-term livability in mind. The result is a home that feels larger than its footprint while offering all the functionality needed for full-time living.

Although Central Haven is a Junior ADU, we didn't approach it like a secondary living space. The home features premium finishes, custom cabinetry, thoughtfully selected fixtures, and a warm, modern design that reflects the same level of craftsmanship Hall Builders Inc. brings to every custom home and remodeling project.

The name Central Haven represents more than just the home itself. Its central location creates the perfect balance of peaceful living with convenient access to everything the area has to offer.
